In 2019, Katie became a stay-at-home mom. Despite living in Chattanooga for four years, she hadn’t built the kind of friendships that make motherhood feel lighter. As she and her family made the transition, she told her husband the one thing she wanted most wasn’t a schedule or a routine — it was connection.
After baby #2, Katie struggled deeply with postpartum depression. During a phone call with a friend from Arizona, she was encouraged to do one simple thing: go to a Moms’ Night Out.
She went — nervous, emotional, and unsure — and ended up sitting down and crying. She had no close friends in the room, yet she was immediately surrounded by love. She left that night a different person, feeling supported, seen, and ready to face what was ahead.
From that moment on, FIT4MOM Chattanooga was no longer just a workout.
It became her village.
Whether it was forgetting her stroller, navigating life with a newborn, or skipping class because baby #3 made everything feel impossible, the village always showed up — and always made it work. Over time, going to class became part of life, not another thing to juggle.
Today, her kids are still friends with their Stroller Strides buddies, and they know exactly what she means when she says she’s spending time with her FIT4MOM friends — because this community has grown alongside her family.
